Approach Overview
My approach to Psychotherapy is “Bio-Psycho-Social-Spiritual” This means that your biology and social structures will deeply impact your mental health, as does your individual mind and emotions. Depending on your reason for seeking counseling, it is often in the best interest of the client to work in tandem with other professionals such as Psychiatrists, Family Doctors, Nutritionists, Massage Therapists and other Health Professionals. In seeing people as holistic, it helps better understand what is behind your problem and how we can best move towards healing.

My education concentrated on central elements of Existential Psychoanalysis, with emphasis on Psychodynamics, Family-Systems and Personal Narratives. I also studied aspects of Theology and Philosophy related to personal development and spiritual growth.

My therapeutic technique focuses on three major areas: Family History/Dynamics, Interpersonal Relationships, and Intrapersonal Constructs of Faith and/or Meaning. Although counseling will look differently per client and depending on the reason for seeking counseling, the above foci are typically common threads that are visited and revisited throughout the counseling process. I will briefly describe these three categories in order that you can get a feel for my counseling process and why I view these areas as important. To be specific, I will discuss these areas in the context of individual counseling.
